I appreciate the opportunity to serve as
Chair of the Environmental and Land Use Law Section of The Florida
Bar. Our Section benefits greatly from the strength of its executive
council, a diverse group of experienced attorneys, who work hard to
build our programs. These programs are always evolving and improving.
We are examining innovative ways to offer CLE seminars and workshops,
refining the selection process for authors and editors for the
Environmental and Land Use Law Treatise (the cornerstone academic work
of our membership), cultivating new relationships with Florida and
out-of-state law schools, faculty and student groups, and involving
students and environmental non-attorney “affiliate” members in our
social and professional activities.
The Section’s recent retreat was as much fun as it was
productive and successful. As we move forward into the coming months,
I invite every member of the ELULS Section to become acquainted and
involved with the Executive Council. We will find a place for you and
an opportunity to support or to lead one of the Council’s Committees
or projects. If you are interested in becoming involved, please feel
free to contact me or any other executive council member from the list
of committees and projects online at
http://www.eluls.org/committees.html.
In the coming months I look forward to working with you
as chair and to your involvement with our executive council.
