  Message from the Chair
George F. Gramling, III

This year the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources (SEER) will be holding its 12th Section Fall Meeting at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort, in San Antonio, Texas.  The meeting will take place October 6 – 10, 2004.  Our Environment and Land Use Law Section Executive Council is planning on holding its regularly scheduled fall meeting in conjunction with this meeting.  This will provide us the opportunity to develop relationships with environmental and land use attorneys from across the country.  We are looking forward to networking and learning more about SEER's CLE programs, member recruitment and committee organization.  Thanks go to Michelle Diffenderfer, whose participation in the ABA SEER has already created opportunities for our section membership and executive council.

At the San Antonio Midyear Meeting SEER will be conducting two CLE programs. The first of these programs is titled “Coalbed Methane Gas Development – Energy, Environment, or Both?” and will take place on Friday, February 6th from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. The second program, titled “Energy Development in the 21st Century – Is Sustainable Development an Environmental Concept or a Business Survival Concept?” will take place that same afternoon from 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Further information regarding the San Antonio Midyear Meeting and a complete calendar of events, as well as information concerning exclusive airfare travel discounts and accommodations, is available on the Internet at http://www.abanet.org/environ/midyear2004/midyear04home.html.
