  FSU College of Law Has an Active Schedule for 2004-2005

     FSU College of Law’s environmental law program has a full schedule of activities for the 2004-2005 academic year, including the following:

1) The Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law’s Distinguished Lecture Series – the Journal, ranked nationally in the top 10 in the environmental field, will feature Professors Robin Craig of the University of Indiana-Indianapolis, and Robert Fischman, University of Indiana-Bloomington, as its Distinguished Lecturers. The Journal’s student Executive Board this year includes: Editor-in-Chief Amanda Brock Brumley, Executive Editors Mike Cerasa and Khai Patterson, Research Editor Greg Goelzhauser, Associate Editor Zachary Ross, and Administrative Editor Zachary L. Lancaster.

2) The Law School Environmental Forum Series, a series that provides a neutral forum for the discussion of timely environmental issues, will focus on Florida’s springs during the Fall Forum, while the spring Forum will highlight issues surrounding coastal concerns. Last year’s programs focused on the Florida Panhandle and the ACF River System.

3) The Law School will feature several leading scholars during the school year through Faculty Workshops, as part of its Symposium on Default Rules in Private and Public Law, and through its Environmental Certificate program. These scholars include: Professors Jonathan Adler, Case Western Reserve University, William Buzbee, Emory University, Gregory Keating, University of Southern California, Dan Tarlock, Chicago-Kent College of Law, David Dreisen, Syracuse University, Daniel Farber, University of California-Berkeley, John Ferejogn, Stanford Univesity, and Bradley C. Karkkainen, University of Minnesota.

4) The student-led Environmental Law Society will continue its Brown Bag Luncheon Series and will, among other activities, organize a career panel. This year’s officers include: President - Melinda Parks, Vice-President - Jill Cabai, Secretary - Adam Schwartz, and Treasurer - Joe Ullo.

5) One of the nation’s leading environmental law scholars, Dan Tarlock, will be visiting FSU this fall and teaching a course on Water Law.
