Annual ELULS Update Set - Florida in 2055

Secretary Thaddeus Cohen of the Department of Community Affairs is one of the featured speakers for the 2005 Annual Environmental and Land Use Law Update at Amelia Island Plantation. The two-day seminar is scheduled to begin the morning of August 25, 2005, with a for-credit workshop presented by the Section’s Affiliates, continue for a full day on August 26th and ending with Section Committee meetings on the morning of August 27th.

This year’s theme looks at where Florida’s past and present policies will lead fifty years from now when Florida will be approaching build-out, redevelopment will be well along in urban areas and agricultural land uses may evaporate as a result of land economics. The Update speakers will address long-term consequences and effective alternatives to the laws and policies now in place.

By popular demand, the Non-Essentials, John Henry Hankinson’s contribution to musical history, will provide entertainment at the Friday night social gathering, sponsored by affiliate members. Exhibitor’s space is available, and interested firms should contact the Section Coordinator, Jackie Werndli, for details.
