The Florida Bar’s Environmental and Land Use Law Section (ELULS) has
partnered with the American Bar Association’s Section of Environment, Energy and
Resources to create and fund a Minority Fellowship Program in Florida. The
program is designed to encourage minority law students to study and pursue
careers in environmental and/or land use law and is open to first and second
year law students.
Erik Espinosa, at the Nova Southeastern University School of Law, has been
awarded the Minority Fellowship for 2007. This Fellowship is awarded annually to
a student at a Florida Law School interested in spending the summer working with
a governmental agency or not for profit organization working in environmental
and/or land use issues. Mr. Espinosa will spend his Fellowship working for the
Everglades Law Center this summer. Mr. Espinosa will be mentored by Richard
Grosso, a Section member, while working at the Center. We look forward to
honoring Mr. Espinosa at the Section's Annual Meeting in Amelia Island August
25th, 2007.
If you know of students that may be interested, please tell them about this
program and direct them to the application materials which can be found
online. Applications need to be postmarked by January 31, 2008. If you
have any questions please contact Jackie Werndli at JWerndli@FlaBar.org.
