           Robert Wells

The Environmental and Land Use Law Manual is undergoing a transformation. I inherited this project from Dennis Stotts and I bequeath it to Ralph DeMeo. When it again appears, the Manual will be the premier research tool for Florida Environmental and Land Use Law. No knowledgeable practitioner in this area of the law will be without the Section's Manual.

New articles will be added covering topics that did not exist when the Manual was last updated. New articles will cover topics such as Brownfields and Risk Based Corrective Actions. Once in production, updates to the new Manual will occur frequently.

I would like to express my appreciation to Tom DeRose and Tim Smith for their leadership and hard work in developing a partnership for publication of the Manual and for creating a new editorial board to oversee its content.

Members of the Executive Council are now working diligently to put into action the plan to bring about this change in the Manual. The Section's budget has been set and approved to implement the plan and the Section soon will be seeking the approval of the Board of Governors for the partnership agreement.

This project is a major undertaking by our Section. We are investing many hours of time and Section's funds to produce the Manual. Your support and participation in this project is encouraged.

Now is the time to volunteer, either as an author or as an editor. To find out how you can participate in this project, contact our Section coordinator, Jackie Werndli, at The Florida Bar.
