The word is out and the gang is already
preparing for the 9th Annual Public Interest Seminar. Currently
the seminar is scheduled for February 27th-March 2, 2003 at the
University of Florida. This, of course, may be subject to change, so
please stay tuned.
So far we have already received a commitment from our Keynoter, who
will be Jan Schlichtmann, the Plaintiff's Attorney in, Anne Anderson
v. W.R. Grace and Co., which became the subject of the bestseller "A
Civil Action." Consequently one of the panels being organized will
focus on toxic torts.
Our next official planning meeting will be at the
Annual Update in Amelia Island on August 22-24th. Currently, though we
are all pitching in ideas and formulating how to make the 9th Annual
Seminar even better than last year’s. If you have any suggestions or
ideas for the conference, please feel free to contact me at the e-mail
address below. I will ensure that your comments will be received by
the PIC and considered at our next meeting in Amelia.
If you are interested in joining the PIC, this is an
excellent time to do so. For any information on the Public Interest
Committee please contact me, your Chair, at (813) 204-2849 or
mcollins@bbs-law.net.
