JANUARY 22, 1998 WORKSHOP MID-YEAR MEETING OF THE FLORIDA BAR MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

EVOLUTION OR REVOLUTION IN FLORIDA CLEANUPS?

This forthcoming workshop will address developments in federal and Florida cleanup processes and goals. Topics addressed will include: the interaction between EPA and FDEP cleanup programs, including EPA's guidance on approving state voluntary cleanup programs and on deferrals of NPL listings; the integration of Florida's hazardous waste closure and EPA's corrective action authorities, including developments in EPA's Subpart S Initiative; the implementation of risk based corrective actions through Florida's Petroleum, Brownfields, and Drycleaning cleanup programs; the integration of these overlapping and competing programs; and the important considerations when negotiating a cleanup consent order with FDEP. The workshop will conclude with a reception to continue the discussion.
